Begin our easter 9 day long Russia road trip from Linkoping with a bus ride to Stockholm... Followed by the well-known overnight party cruise from Stockholm to Turku, Finland- VIKING LINE.

Evening view from the deck of the Viking... the only nice part of the cruise. the faithful cruise.

That was pretty much the end of our comfort travelling coz the rest of the trip was spent on the bus. Never sat SOOOO much bus... Reached Turku in the morning and it was REALLY the start of the ROAD trip... about 12 hours of drive from Finland to Russia, St Petersburg. *pengz* To makes things worst... the roads were bumpy. Crossing Finland to Russia borders is like crossing the Straits to Malaysia... Cross two customs... Had some soldiers come on board to check our passports after we got thru customs... So dumb... (prolly a form of creating extra employment). Haha... So 2 days just flew by....

-St Petersburg-.
Went on a sightseeing tour... which only upped my disappointment factor... coupled with the very gloomy weather... dull n dirty buildings... bumpy roads...
St Isaac's Cathedral. Din go in though.

Smolny Sobor. Another cathedral. Its painted in some candy blue... Nice blue... but somehow i think it just looks strange on buildings... N wellz... Russia is a country with few days of sunlight... 70+ sunny days in St Petersburg... Explains the gloomy sky behind. Which makes it so sian to take pix.

Church on Spilled Blood aka Church of the resurrection of Christ. Built on the spot where Alexander II was assassinated. Check out the colour domes. All the churches in Russias have domes... So see one = see all... so of coz muz see this famous one lorz. The domes r just so colourful. So RPG game like... Reminds me of candies... N those amusement parks.

The Historic Heart... Palace Square. I love big squares. Something which is hard to find in land scare Singapore.

Winter Palace with some 1000+ rooms which now house the Hermitage musuem... one of the world's great art musuem.

Walked for 2+ hours n we still couldn't complete the musuem. So huge that u can get lost.
Can u imagine staying there?
Sights n sounds of St Petersburg
Check out the overhead cables

Lots of rivers dividing the place.... Linked by numerous bridges. Machiam Stockholm.

Interior of one of the shopping centre. Space-y feeling. Haha...

Passage way with loads of makan & random stalls

And finally we settled down at this russian fastfood place tt had an english menu. Wat a luxury to haf a english menu. Hurh hurh hurh... But guess wat... the staff couldn't really understand or speak english... rendering the english menu quite useless. But nonetheless we still got our pancakes (felt a bit cheated coz we thot we ordered a meal... but somehow they managed to get us to order salad which was out of the set... Haiz... Communication barrier. Felt so handicapped). The chicken broth was yummilicious... n so was the pancake. Muahaha... N pancake was my addiction for the days in Russia (figured that was somewhat Russian food... or at least food that's what the commoner Russians eat)

More food... Room service on our 1st nite at our hotel. Room service is amazingly pretty cheap explaining this....

Bread. Chicken soup with noodles (yi ji bang lorz). Mushroom baked with cheese. Herring with potato. (introduction to Herring... which got my roomie for the trip hooked on to it... Muahahaha... )

Back to preparing for project meeting tml... Haiz...

Don't take too long to say
"I love you" to the ones you love,
cause time has a habit of slipping away

Out on a clear blue sky,
when lighting strikes on a sunny day,
just take me in and keep me from the rain,

And the words that seem so hard to say,
come out when you've gone away,
stay a little while and hear me say,

That I want you here tonight,
and I need you by my side,
for just one more moment,
for just one more moment,
with you
Turn around to say goodbye,
with each and every word that passes by,
like a distant memory,
and time keeps slipping away,
and time will turn to grey,
and time will be the one who holds you down

God can't decide if he wanted rain or snow.
So he gave us both.
Pelt of raindrops n snow hit the ground concurrently.
Snowflakes in the higher altitudes
and as they close in on the ground
they melt.
The ease of transition between states.
The wonders of nature.
Science & nature.

1. Asian fiesta is shitified. Disaster in my words. Poor organisation n planning. Maybe these 2 words exist minimally in this event.
2. Curry was not good too. Something about it tasted wrong. Watever lah. DL sums it all.
3. Day was spent being sian. The weather is wet. Nothing to do.
4. Nite was fucked up. Who said mac is stable??? TMD. I brillantly managed to crash my mac. Brillant eh. Lucky i brought the startup OS disk. OS refuse to start up, it just kept on running. So i dug out the starters kit i got, found the 2 CDs n stuffed into the driver n prayed tt some miracle will happen. Ended up reinstalling the OS (equivalent to PC's reformat i guess... but this was much easier. ) So essentially my impt docs r GONE WITH THE WIND. Haiz. My documents, my finances, my travel journal... n the seemingly insignificant thing... my bookmarks.
Thot i would be less of an anti-social n go out for the supposedly happening party tonite n esp since got pple jio. Haiz... In the end... stuck in my mountain hole panicking. No mood to talk to anyone, do anything, party, or laugh. Back to trying to restore n load up my comp.
A combination tt hasn't been experienced for quite a long while - silent self.
Depressed.
Upset.
Sian. :(

Sch is kinda hell. Sheesh... Benn having classes non-stop since i came back. Blehz. And seems like i have classes everyday. Silly billy me thot my class was in the afternoon n as a result i skipped the first class of my new course. Hurh hurh. Wat a way to start. Oh wellz... Xiong term up ahead. Been cheated by the course syllabus here. Suppose to be taking a level B finance course n another level D mgmt course. But end up... both courses turned out to be level D. So screwed. N i'm back to staring at valuation models. WTF>WTH. which only reminds me of the banana. hahah... Anw who says exchange is slack? Blehz... Here is far from slack. ARGH... N it's gonna be a shitified term.

SK warriors: u'll be amused by the SK i haf here. Muahaha.... Here comes the story. The gal signed up to be in some asian committee thingy n got the post of events. Hurh hurh. But as the president is soooo efficient, I never had to do any work. Nor did i receive any mails for meetings. Muahaha... No emails of notification no need my presence there lorz. Natural heh. And so now there's this asian party which miraculously just got organized. N so my role.... *drumroll* COOK. Hahaha... Interesting hor... Back home... we just need to call n get quotations n cater the darn food. Here we COOK. Amazing. i'm amused. So the Singaporeans r tasked to coook for 70 pple n cook our local food alongside other Asian food. Muahaha... So wat's Singaporean? Someone enlighten me. Oh wellz... we decided to make honeydew sago. Hehe... Easy yeah. But we figured that tat's a bit lil since there's so many of us so we decided to cook *drumroll* CURRY. Muahahaha... IMAGINE. SOS mummy for help but expectedly she's still working. N she gave me the ingredients to use n told me to experiment with the amounts. *pengz* N mama's not in... thank goodness for my childhood maid. I GOT THE RECIPE. So i will try my experiment later. Muahahaha... Wish everyone luck. Wish us luck. Hahaha... Gonna be fun manz.

I'm amued by the SK here so muz blog abt it.

Sighz... Got contact family dinner tonite too... Blehz... All at the same time. Dunno wat to go for? Contact dinner/ asia dinner? Blehz.... But for sure... gonna experiment with the cooking. Haha...

B.A.C.K
It's great to be back n be welcomed by the greens and a slightly warmer climate.
BUT
It isn't great to be back to be in sch for class within the first hour of arrival back to this lil small village... upon checking ya mail to find that there are 90 mails in hotmail, hundred +++ of mail in the sch mailbox n thankfully a few mails in the mailbox here. Rest of the mails... no eyes to check. Why so many mails from the sch back home? Isn't everyone suppose to be having exams? So free to send n read mail meh???
While checking thru my mail... stumbled upon this rather interesting mail. Photos of my trip to come when i get all my pix.

One day, while a seamstress was sewing while sitting close to a river, her thimble fell into the river. When she cried out, the Lord appeared and asked, "Why are you crying?"
The seamstress replied that her thimble had fallen into the water, and she needed the thimble to make her living.
The Lord went down into the water and reappeared with a golden thimble. "Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked.
The seamstress replied, "No." The Lord again went down and came up with a silver thimble.
"Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked. Again, the seamstress replied, "No."
The Lord went down again and came up with a wooden thimble. "Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked. The seamstress replied, "Yes."
The Lord was pleased with the woman's honesty and gave her all three thimbles to keep, and the seamstress went home happy.
Some time later, the seamstress was walking with her husband along the riverbank, and her husband fell into the river.
When she cried out, the Lord again appeared and asked her, Why are you crying?" "Oh Lord, my husband has fallen into the water!"
The Lord went down into the water and came up with Mel Gibson. "Is this your husband?" the Lord asked. "Yes," cried the seamstress.
The Lord was furious. "You lied! That is an untruth!"
The seamstress replied, "Oh, forgive me, my Lord. It is a misunderstanding. You see, if I had said 'no' to Mel Gibson, you would have come up with Brad Pitt. Then if I said 'no' to him, you would have come up with my husband. Had I then said 'yes,' you would have given me all three.
Lord, I am a poor woman and am not able to take care of all three husbands, so THAT'S why I said yes to Mel Gibson."
The moral of this story is: Whenever a woman lies, it is for a good and honorable reason, and for the benefit of others.
That's our story, and we're sticking to it
